YBW 2008 Time to sign up!

Youth Business Week invites all Sophomores through recently graduated seniors to participate in YBW 2008. 130 students will be selected to participate in this weeklong program held on the campus of Empire College. Be the first of your school to sign up for this week filled with learning, fun, and adventure. June 28 - July 2 are the dates. We look forward to receiving your application packet soon.



Information for Prospective Participants

Cost

YBW 2008 will be held June 28 - July 2, 2008 on the campus of Empire College. For those students needing transportation to and from Empire College daily a central meeting location will be assigned for pick up and drop off in your local area at absolutely no cost to you. Cost per student is $195. Students registering prior to April 25 will receive a decrease in registration fee to $175. Each application must include registration form, registration fee, demographics form and a three paragraph essay stating reasons why you wish to attend YBW 2008. Interviews for acceptance to identified pathways will take place between February and April, 2008. Students will be accepted into the YBW program on a first come, first served basis. YBW does take credit cards for payment.

Rewarding Business Experience

Youth Business Week is fun and exciting - but be prepared to work! With the help of your company advisor, you and your peers will set up your own company and executive management team. As a team you will work to turn your imaginary "company" into a financial success. At Youth Business Week, will learn many elements about the real world of business as well as having the chance to:

  • Make lasting friendships with students from all over Sonoma County.
  • Learn firsthand how America's economic system really works.
  • Hear about the exciting business careers of the 21st century.
  • Learn what it takes to be successful in business.

Code of Conduct and Permission

The sponsors of Youth Business Week expect all participants to behave in a mature and respectful manner. Students must abide by a code of conduct which must be read, understood, and signed by student and parent or guardian. The Code of Conduct will be turned in with registration packet.
